Cylinder Sleeving
If the damage to a cylinder is too great to be bored, or the maximum oversized piston has already been used, our CNC Machining Centre can machine the block for us to fit a thin cast iron liner or sleeve. This enables us to machine out the damage and return the cylinder back to its factory original size so that a standard sized piston can be used. This also means that if your pistons are in good condition these can be reused, rather than having to be replaced. After an initial assessment we can recommend which process will be most beneficial for your engine. In certain applications, we also use specialised cylinder sleeves to increase block strength and durability to withstand the greater cylinder pressures in high horsepower and turbo engines.
