Multi-Angle Valve Seat Machining
As part of our cylinder head reconditioning process, we assess the condition of the existing valve seats. More often than not these will need to be machined to make them perfectly round, or concentric, as well as give the correct seat angle and width required to give the best possible seal between the valve and the seat, when in its seated position.
This is hugely important to promote both heat transfer from the valve and the perfect seal to eliminate compression loss. This work is carried out on our specialist seat cutting machine, with a wide variety of cutting tips to suit all types of cylinder heads, seat angles, and widths.
For performance and race applications we also have specific tips that we use to achieve maximum air flow in and around the seat area of the cylinder head.
