As part of our assessment and reconditioning process, or if there is a suspected fault, we can carry out a pressure test on your Cylinder Head using our specialist testing equipment.
This process involves circulating heated water, infused with a fluorescent dye through the cooling system of the cylinder head. The system is then pressurised to identify any leaks from cracks, pinholes, or porosity which can develop over time or as a result of overheating issues. This test can be carried out on both aluminium and cast iron cylinder heads.
Depending on the extent of the cracks, we will advise if repairs can be undertaken, or whether a replacement cylinder head (new or second hand) is recommended.
